cell phone poem

if i regret your love
i must forget the city's sunlight
and a bus ride

those sirens and a hasty breakfast
write a parable
across a cell phone

you can't murder a memory
so don't neglect
the fire in those moments

each poem digs its roots into
the freckles on his back
i won't forget it
